LOL! I love this post because I can really relate to it. I though that romance came from big and shiny surprises but not I think that it is in the funny moment when your insanity with the man who see you everyday, It is then that you get a glimpse at the strength of unconditional love and it only encourages you to be more yourself because you know that they will stay in your dusty potpourri decorated bed.

Seriously, though. I wouldn’t say no to something big and shiny. I’m just saying ;)

My husband used to buy me roses and Oreos (because I loved Oreos). Once we got tied up in twinland, I had to settle for the bags of Gerber jars he would arrive home with every week. It was all very romantic.. NOT! Later he discovered my secret love for cell phones, so they replaced roses and shiny baubles. Then cell phones became very expensive and I lost that bit of romance too.

I didn’t save any rose petals.. so I’ll shower him with plain dust instead.

Thanks for the laugh and Happy Anniversary!! Wishing you many, many more vases of FRESH rose petals in the years ahead. ;)

    Anne,

Try using Oreo dust! That might give him a hint ;)

I love that you tried to kill your husband with dusty rose petals. I think the mystery’s taken a vacation in our marriage too – holidays, birthdays, anniversaries are usually celebrated with a self imposed shop, meaning I buy why I want, he buys himself what he wants. It saves me having to walk in to a hardware store with four kids and then trying to lug some 800 lb something or other out, and still have the task of attempting to wrap it when I get it home.

Flowers are nice though. It’s been a while for me too. :)
